To promote the use of transit and transit-related information and make it easier for software developers to make innovations, we are making our software data services available as we bring them on board.
If there is a format you do not see, please know that we likely are not using that tool at the moment. Otherwise, just leave us a comment.
Before you get started, you should review the following terms that appear frequently in our data. These are SolTrans’ definitions and do not necessarily represent the definitions for other transit agencies.
Term |
Definition |
Block | A collection of trips assigned to a bus during a specific time-frame on a given day. |
Direction | The general path a route moves to reach its terminal destination. We have 7 directions: Northbound, Southbound, Eastbound, Westbound, Clockwise, Counterclockwise, & Loop. |
GTFS | General Transit Feed Specification, a common format for public transit information and associated geographic information, which results in two feeds: static and realtime. |
Route | A collection of ordered stops (patterns) with a name (e.g. Route 1, Red Line). |
Pattern | Unique travel paths with varying stops for the same route. |
Route | A collection of ordered stops (patterns) with a name (e.g. Route 1, Red Line). |
Run | Generally speaking, a collection of trips assigned to a driver during a specific time-frame on a given day. |
Stop ID | The unique 6-digit number that identifies each SolTrans bus stop, transit center or transit center bays. |
Timepoint | A stop on a route that serves as a benchmark for whether a trip is running on time. |
Trip | A bus traveling on a specific pattern with a specific one-way direction. |
Connexionz, Ltd., provides SolTrans’ GTFS static and realtime datasets.
Please do not use the official SolTrans logo on anything you develop, so that customers know what they’re getting directly from SolTrans versus any other open data source. (Ps. We really love seeing and interacting with the cool things folks develop, so do drop us a message in our Contact Us form!)
By downloading and using SolTrans’ GTFS (Data), you agree to be bound by all of the Terms and Conditions set forth below:
URL | Description | Documentation |
---|---|---|
Static | The static GTFS data. Contains routes, trips and stops in GTFS format. In the event of a service change, this file will contain both the current and future schedule periods merged together. Your software must use the date ranges in the calendar.txt table to select the correct trips based on date. | GTFS Static Overview |
Alerts | The GTFS-realtime alert data. | Service Alerts |
Trip Updates | The GTFS-realtime trip updates data. | Trip Updates |
Vehicle Positions | The GTFS-realtime vehicle position data. | Vehicle Positions |
