A New Vision on the Board for 2025

January 2025 marked a wave of fresh energy for SolTrans as three new Board Members and two alternates took their seats. Vallejo’s newly elected Mayor, Andrea Sorce, succeeded outgoing Mayor Robert McConnell, bringing a pledge of transformative change to her role. In tandem, Mayor Sorce also joined the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) Board, where she now collaborates with fellow Solano County leaders, including Benicia Mayor Steve Young and Suisun City Mayor Alma Hernandez.

Adding to the momentum, Solano County Supervisor Mitch Mashburn, representing District 5, stepped into his dual roles on both the SolTrans and STA Boards. As the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) appointee, Supervisor Mashburn brings a fresh regional perspective and a commitment to strategic transportation planning.

Filling another pivotal seat, Vallejo City Councilmember Helen-Marie “Cookie” Gordon joined SolTrans as Mayor Sorce’s appointee to the Public Transportation seat. Her prior service on the SolTrans Public Advisory Committee (PAC) gives her valuable insight to help shape impactful rider-focused initiatives.

Rounding out this vibrant ensemble, two alternates also made their debut. Tonia Lediju, Vallejo City Councilmember, embraced her new role with enthusiasm, while Lionel Largaespada, Benicia Councilmember, returned with seasoned insights, having previously served on the SolTrans Board during an earlier term.

Together, this spirited and forward-thinking team is poised to lead SolTrans into an exciting era of innovation and progress.
