SolTrans to Implement Schedule and RoutingImprovements for Routes 40, 70 and 90
SOLANO COUNTY, CA. –Following the August 2launch of the Systemwide Redesign, SolTrans identified timing and operational issues on Routes 40, 70, and 90 and will implement targeted service improvements beginning Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Since the service change, SolTrans staff have been closely monitoring the new schedules, gathering actual running-time data, and listening to rider feedback to identify where adjustments are needed. The changes are intended to improve on-time performance, strengthen connections, and provide a better experience for riders. Updated schedules will be available on the SolTrans website Friday, August28 and at the Vallejo Transit Center Ticket Office Monday, August 31, 2026.
Schedule changes to Routes 40 and 70 will provide additional travel time for buses traveling to Concord BART, helping improve on-time performance and reliability.
The changes will also adjust North Concord service to better prioritize BART connections during the times when riders need them most. In the morning, southbound trips only will stop at North Concord, prioritizing trips for riders traveling toward BART. In the afternoon, northbound trips only will stop at North Concord, prioritizing northbound service from North Concord to Solano County for riders returning home. These changes are intended to streamline BART connections, improve the flow of service, and reduce delays during peak travel periods.
The updated schedules will also address gaps in service during the early evening, providing more consistent service for riders traveling later in the day.
Route 90 will also receive a routing adjustment to improve the order of stops. The route will serve the Fairfield Transportation Center before the Suisun Amtrak Station, creating a more logical sequence for riders and improving the overall operation of the route.
“Our operations, planning, and scheduling teams worked quickly to gather real-world running-time data, identify where adjustments were needed, and expedite these changes so they could be implemented as soon as possible,” said Beth Kranda, SolTrans Executive Director. “We listened to our riders, reviewed what we were seeing in the field, and made the necessary adjustments to improve reliability and the overall customer experience. Monitoring and refining service is an important part of implementing a systemwide redesign, and we’re committed to continuing that work to ensure the new network delivers the improvements our community needs.”
In preparation for the schedule changes, SolTrans will move its Concord BART operations to Bay B5 on Monday, August 31. The new location will provide a better operating location for buses while also improving the experience for riders making connections at the station.
New permanent signage is being prepared. Until the new signage can be installed, riders should follow the temporary maps and A-frame signs directing them to the SolTrans boarding location.
SolTrans thanks riders for their patience and partnership as the agency continues to monitor and refine the Systemwide Redesign. Staff will continue evaluating service performance and rider feedback following the September 1 changes to ensure the new schedules and routing meet the needs of the community.
