Press Release: SolTrans Celebrates 707 Week with Free Rides, Local Pride, and a Whole Lot of Vallejo Love!

Solano County, CA - Solano County is gearing up for a new kind of civic celebration—707 Week, a grassroots-powered, community-forward initiative running July 7–13, 2025 that celebrates the culture, creativity, and resilience of Solano County, starting with a citywide launch in Vallejo.

 

To kick off the week in style, SolTrans is offering FREE rides on all Local and SolanoExpress routes on Monday, July 7—thanks to the support of Vallejo’s own LaRussell, a rapper and proud community advocate who will covering the cost of all fares for the day.

 

“707 Day is an opportunity to share with the Bay Area the resiliency, identity, and culture of Solano County,” said Supervisor Cassandra R. James, Solano County District 1.

 

Whether you’re headed to a 707 Week event, commuting to work, or just exploring Vallejo, July 7 is the perfect day to hop on board and ride with pride—on LaRussell.

 

707 Week was built with intention, to activate neighborhoods, small businesses, artists, and civic voices throughout Solano County. The week’s events include job fairs and storytelling events, cultural show cases, podcast takeovers, and locally crafted food and music. Visit 707week.com for a full list of events.

 

“SolTrans is proud to be part of this milestone week for Vallejo and Solano County,” said Beth Kranda, Executive Director of SolTrans. “We’re here to connect the community—not just through transit, but through partnership, pride, and purpose.”

 

To close out the week in true hometown fashion, SolTrans will host the Vallejo Seaweeds game on Sunday, July 13 at 1 PM at Wilson Park. Come celebrate community, baseball, and transit pride as SolTrans Board Chair Terry Scott throws out the ceremonial first pitch. Plus, the first 100 fans through the gate will receive a special SolTrans giveaway—so get there early and ready to rep our city!

 

 

Solano County Transit (SolTrans) has been the public transportation provider for south Solano County since July 2011.SolTrans provides local and SolanoExpress fixed routes and complementary paratransit. The agency is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) governed by a six-member Board of Directors, composed of two representatives from the cities of Benicia and Vallejo, Solano County’s representative on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC),and a representative from the Solano Transportation Authority.
