Press Release: SolTrans Provides Free ShuttleService for Benicia PorchFest

 Solano County, CA — Solano County Transit (SolTrans) is proud toonce again support the annual Benicia PorchFest by offering free shuttleservice on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Modified Route 15 and Route 17shuttles will run throughout the day, connecting festivalgoers from freeparking locations around town directly to the heart of the downtownfestivities.

 

To ease traffic and reduce parking congestion along Benicia’sFirst Street, riders are encouraged to park at designated free lots and ridethe shuttle. Parking will be available at:

 

·        Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located (1125Southampton Road)

·        First Baptist Church of Benicia (1055 Southampton Rd)

All of these locations and residential neighborhoods along theroutes are served directly by the free shuttle routes. The main event drop-off and pick-uplocation will be at Military and First Street, in front of Safeway, placingriders right in the heart of the PorchFest action.

 

Due to ongoing construction and the closure of Military West atMary Farmer, the shuttle routes will not serve Benicia High School this year.

 

Shuttle service will run from 12p.m. to 6 p.m., ensuringattendees can enjoy all the live music, food, and community fun without thehassle of parking downtown.

 

“PorchFest is a great new addition to Benicia events, andSolTrans is proud to play a part in keeping it accessible, safe, and fun foreveryone,” said Planning and Marketing Manager, Mandi Renshaw. “We encourageresidents and visitors alike to park at one of the free lots and let SolTrans do the driving.”

Solano County Transit (SolTrans) has been the publictransportation provider for south Solano County since July 2011. SolTrans provides local and SolanoExpress fixed routes andcomplementary paratransit. The agency is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) governedby a six-member Board of Directors, composed of two representatives from thecities of Benicia and Vallejo, Solano County’s representative on theMetropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), and a representative from theSolano Transportation Authority.
